Julio César Galán (Cáceres, Spain1978). He was reader of Spanish at the University of Algiers and associate professor at the University of the Balearic Islands. He is currently a professor at the University of Extremadura.


 


Author of the following collections of poems: El ocaso de la aurora (Sial, 2004), Tres veces luz (La Garúa, 2007), Márgenes (Poetry prize “Villa de Cox”, Editorial Pre-textos, 2012), Inclinación al envés ( ERE/Editorial Pre-textos, 2014), El primer día ( Isla de Sitolá, 2016) and Testigos de la utopía (Diputación de Cáceres/ Editorial Pre-textos, 2017). He has also published as a heteronym the following books of poems: Gajo de sol (Abezetario, 2009), La llanura (Poetry prize “Vicente García de la Huerta”, I.E.S. Suárez de Figueroa, 2016) and Para comenzar todo de nuevo (Ay del Seis, 2017) by Luis Yarza; ¿Baile de cerezas o polen germinando? (Ediciones Idea, 2010) and ¿Una extraña orquídea o un superviento estelar? (Bala Perdida, 2021) by Pablo Gaudet; and Introducción a la locura de las mariposas (Tigres de papel, 2015) by Jimena Alba. 


 


Of his poetry there have been several anthologies such as Ahora sí (Huesos de Jibia, Buenos Aires, 2018), Donde es aquí (RIL Editores, Santiago de Chile, 2019), Acorde para las aguas madres (Balduque, Murcia, 2019), Anotaciones cardinales (Sombrario, Guadalajara, Mexico, 2019), El inventor del Sí (La Zonámbula, Guadalajara, Mexico, 2020) and Sin adiós (Cascahuesos, Arequipa, Peru, 2020).


 


He has been anthologized in Matriz desposeída (Abezetario, 2013), Limados. La ruptura textual en la última poesía española (Amargord 2016) Poéticas del Malestar (Gallo Verde, 2017), Desobediencia (El sastre de Apollinaire, 2020), and País Ibérico (Ay del Seis, 2021).
